Daily and weekly routine
In Nepal, we are used to getting up when the sun rises and going to bed when the sun sets. With this habit, we also make good use of the daylight, since electricity is not always reliable. Therefore, our children get up early in the morning.
Daily:
06.00 a.m. Get up out of bed and wash themselves
06.05 a.m. Physical training to maintain a good physical health
06.30 a.m. Small breakfast/snack
07.00 a.m. Homework and study
08.00 a.m. Playing and resting time
09.00 a.m. Breakfast
09.30 a.m. Getting dressed in schooluniforms
09.45 a.m. Walking to the Golma Devi town school
10.00 a.m. Start of schoolday
16.00 p.m. End of schoolday
16.15 p.m. Afternoon snack
16.30 p.m. Playing and resting time
17.00 p.m. Study and homework time
18.00 p.m. Playing and study time.
19.00 p.m. Dinner
20.00 p.m. Bedtime for the smaller children
21.00 p.m. Bedtime for everybody
Weekly:
The children go to school from Sunday till Thursday. Friday and Saturday the kids stay in the home. They do their homework, clean their room and help the staff to clean communal areas. They play games inside and outside the building and on Friday and Saturdaynight there is an entertainment program for them. We have quiz nights, play games and competitions with them, have dance-recitals and so on.
